Conference in Amherst, Lorain county, Ohio. Joseph is "Ordained the President of the high Preashood and others". No minutes for this important meeting have been found.

D&C 75: Missionaries not to tarry nor be idle "but labor with your mights." William E. McLellin's assignment to the "eastern countries" is revoked and he is chastened for "the murmurings of his heart." He sinned but the Lord forgives him and calls him the "the south countries" with Luke S. Johnson. (3)
Orson Hyde and Samuel H. Smith, and Lyman E. Johnson and Orson Pratt are called to "the eastern countries;" Asa Dodds and Calves Wilson to "the western countries;" Major N. Ashley and Burr Riggs to the south countries. (3)
[Orson Pratt:] At this conference, the Prophet Joseph was acknowledged President of the High Priesthood, and hands were laid on him by Elder Sidney Rigdon, who sealed upon his head the blessings which he had formerly received. I was appointed to preside over the Elders and was set apart and ordained by Sidney Rigdon. (3)
[Samuel H. Smith:] Presidents were chosen by the difrent grades of oficers to Preside over them according to the Holy order of god. (3)
Sidney Rigdon and Edward Partridge at odds (a hardness between them); resolved [per Joseph Smith]. (4)
At a church conference, Joseph Smith, Jr. is ordained President of the High Priesthood over the entire church. (5)
[Hyde, Orson] Appointed by revelation to accompany Samuel H. Smith on mission to eastern states 25 January 1832; with Samuel H. Smith baptized sixty converts during eleven-month mission. (6)

[Joseph Smith] Joseph Smith is ordained President of the High Priesthood by Rigdon at the Amherst, Ohio conference. This was in response to a Nov. 1831 revelation added without explanation to an 1835 revelation on priesthood. (8)
