[Revelations] Hiram, Ohio. Doctrine and Covenants 73. Brethren to preach nearby until conference, which will give assignments. Joseph and Sidney resume translating until finished. May preach nearby.
N. K. Whitney manuscript heading: Hiram Portage county ohio Jan 10th 1832 / A Revelation to Joseph and Sidney. The word of the Lord unto them concerning the Elders of the church of the Living God established in the last days making known the will of the Lord unto the Elders what they should do untill conference.
Not included in the Book of Commandments.
1835 Doctrine and Covenants 29 heading: A Revelation to Joseph Smith, jr. and Sidney Rigdon, January, 1832. The word of the Lord unto them concerning the elders of the church of the living God, established in the last days, making known the will of the Lord unto the elders, what they shall do until conference. (1)

William E. McLellin spends most of the day talking with John C. Bennett, "a Campbelite Priest. I took hoim on my slay and Thursday and Friday I brought him to Hiram to see Jos & Sidney, (2)

Reynolds Cahoon and Orson Pratt visit "doubt<ing> members" in Painesville and Kirtland "Made a report to the Church found some gilty and cut them off from the church." (2)

William E. McLellin introduces John C. Bennett to Joseph Smith. "he talked considerable with Br Joseph." (2)

[Joseph Smith] Hiram, Ohio. Joseph Smith talked considerably with Mr. Bennett, a Campbellite priest. (3)

Sidney Rigdon and William E. McLellin, preaching in Auburn, find "the people did not hearken to the councils of Heaven at all." (2)

Reynolds Cahoon and Thomas B. Marsh excommunicate several in the Orange area. (2)

-- Jan 22, 1832
Oliver Cowdery (25) marries Elizabeth Ann Whitmer (David Whitmer's sister). (4)

(Monday) conference begins in Amherst school house. Thomas B. Marsh conducts, Joseph offers prayer. (2)

Jackson County conference (Kaw township): 1,200 acres purchased for inheritances; Bishop Partridge to ask branches in the East to send various craftsmen to Zion. (2)

Conference (Kaw township): Bishop Edward Partridge presents financial report; hotel to be built; Oliver Cowdery, William W. Phelps, and John Corrill to superintend schools; John Murdock and John Corrill to keep membership records. Letters from Sidney are read making "certain charges detrimental to [Edward's] character and standing as a Bishop." Sidney to settle his differences with Edward amicably. (2)

[Joseph Smith] Bishop Edward Partridge presents his accounting for church revenues and expenditures for the previous year, and the conference votes that a financial statement should be presented to each general conference in Missouri. The practice is suspended when church headquarters moves to Illinois in 1839. (5)
