Mormon History, Dec 26, 1847

[Hosea Stout Diary] Sund Dec 26th 1847. Went very earley to see Mother Taylors and took breakfast. Allen & I then went back to Conference.
Elder Applebee spoke on the situation and policy of the Nations. His discourse was lengthy & very interesting to all present for our means of information at this time was very limited[.] He is a beautiful & easy speaker.
In the afternoon Prest H. C. Kimball spoke against the Saints going to Gentile Balls and gentiles themselves and was followed by Prest E. T. Benson, after which I came home. Prest Young sent for several of his folks to come to the Ball tomorrow to be there.
