Mormon History, Nov 8, 1846

[Hosea Stout Diary] Sunday Nov. 8th 1846. Got up before day and in company with Major Bills,went and drew in a load of hay.then went to meeting
Joseph Young spoke on the necessity of prayer, liberality &cwanted the Seventies to meet &cand was followed by Heber on economy again and how to kneed up musty flour to make it good &c.then Brigham on the speculation of the sisters making willow baskets & selling for some thing to live on instead of selling their fine things.
Got a letter from A. J. Stout all well at Garden Grove yet.
In the after noon went to a meeting of the Presidents of seventies at Brighams new house.
The subject of the Seventies taking care of their own poor was taken up and agreed to & many other thing. We were advised by Brigham to set our Quorums in order. He also asked us to take hold and dig the mill race which was agreed to &c and at 5 oclock met the council at Brighams tent. There was nothing done except of a local nature.
