D&C 39 (Fayette): Baptist minister James Covill commanded to be baptized. (2)

[Joseph Smith] Fayette, New York. Joseph Smith received Doctrine & Covenants 39, a revelation calling James Covill to be baptized and labor in Zion. (3)

[Revelations] Fayette, Seneca county, New York. Doctrine and Covenants 39. James Covill called to be baptized, preach, go to Ohio, gathering, signs of second coming (near).

Dispatched from New York in accordance with a now-unknown revelation, John Whitmer arrives in Kirtland with the newly revealed book of Moses and other revelations designating Kirtland as the eastern edge of the land of Zion-which extends to the Pacific Ocean-and directing the Saints not to sell their lands, but rather to purchase as much as they can. (2)

[Lucy Mack Smith] According to Lucy's date by 15 Jan. 1831 John Whitmer arrives at Kirtland to preside over the branch there. (5)
