It appears they tried to live an aspect of the Word of Wisdom rarely followed by washing each others bodies in whiskey in a cleansing ritual. (D&C 89:7 "strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.")<br /> 2. An escalation of the gifts of tongues<br /> 3. Wine is served before the "cake" in the sacrament, of which they ate as a meal "until we had taken our fill" and after the meal of cake and wine their "hearts were made glad."<br /> 4. The original text of D&C 137 was "I saw father Adam, and Abraham and Michael and my father and mother, my brother Alvin that has long since slept" with "Michael" removed.
